First home owner grant The first home owner grant provides eligible first home buyers with a $7,000 grant provided that the piece or construction of the home does not exceed $750,000.
If you are eligible to receive the first home owner grant, you may be entitled to receive the additional payment, known as First home bonus of $13,000, if the purchase price of the property does not exceed $600,000.
An additional $6,500 regional bonus is also available for the construction or purchase of a new home in a regional municipality in Victoria.
For contracts entered into after 1 January 2010, to qualify for the Grant, the price of the property or construction of the home must not exceed $750,000. *For contracts entered into between 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2012, to qualify for the Bonus, the value of the property must not exceed $600,000.
